Years in Operation: 11-20 yrs Summary describing your organization:: Fort Wayne Peace Action is a loosely-knit group of progressive peace activists located in and around Fort Wayne, Indiana. We are chartered by the State of Indiana as a non-profit organization, which simply means we make no filthy lucre - nada -zip.We got our start on the Courthouse Green (affectionately dubbed Peace Park) on October 6, 2002, during Bush Company's runup to war, when 160 of us had a speakout and protest. Thereafter, protests were held on a non-regular basis at that site and other locations around town. The largest was in February, 2003, when over 350 jammed the Green, calling for no war. |
