Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5124.02 and Chapter 102 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.), this issuance establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for the organization and administration of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Program.

Scott Harding and Seth Kershner are the authors of a new book, Counter-recruitment and the Campaign to Demilitarize Public Schools (Palgrave Macmillan). Drawing on dozens of interviews with activists conducted between 2012 and 2014, their book describes the various tactics used to demilitarize public schools in the United States.
