Changing School Policies around military recruitment

A live online organizing workshop in three 1-hour parts that was convened online on August 26th, 28th and 31st of 2015, as a training and question and answer session to activists interesting in changing school policies in relation to military recruiting efforts by the Department of Defense in public schools.

These webinars discussed how policies have been adopted in various school districts with restrictions that have included:

- Limiting recruiter visits and their movement in schools
- Banning direct solicitation of contact information and uninvited interaction with students
- Requiring equal access for counter-recruiters
- Controlling military (ASVAB) testing; and more . . .

Each session covered a different set of topics. They are available below:

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

A Brochure for Young Women Thinking About Joining the Military | 2022

"When I joined, I knew that women in the military faced an uphill battle, but I didn't fully understand how serious the issues were and how reluctant leadership is to doing anything about it.

The truth is that there's a culture of harassment and assault that is incredibly harmful to all troops, but especially to gender minorities."
