Additional Info: On Earth Peace Additional Info: On Earth Peace contributes to movement-building and capacity development for counter-recruitment organizers. As an organization rooted in the Church of the Brethren, On Earth Peace's specific constituency within the counter-recruitment movement is support for those doing counter-recruitment work motivated by a Christian faith basis, although we welcome all people to take advantage of our resources and calls. We offer national networking conference calls which include sharing by participants about challenges and victories, strategy tips, and spiritual support/theological reflection about counter-recruitment. These are a great place to get connected to the larger movement. Check our website to find the date for the next conference call. We also offer one-on-one phone support around strategy for new and more experienced organizers. We provide a basic organizing and outreach packet which includes a sample of 10-15 resources from around the movement, suggestions specifically for folks working from a Christian faith basis, and tips for getting started. MILITARIZING AMERICAN SCHOOLS: Post Pandemic 2023

The U.S. Department of Defense is struggling to meet its recruitment quotas for all branches of the military in 2022 -2023. In response to this “national security” crisis, there has been the emergence of lower standards for recruits as well as new strategies for military recruitment commands to appeal to and recruit the next digital generation of youth. The following document contains articles that cover the Department of Defense’s strategies in both expanded and new locations for military recruitment currently impacting youth both inside and outside their public schools. For those activists that are confronting increased military recruiting inside their communities, the following articles will offer information about programs of the military they are likely to confront in their efforts to demilitarize youth. Also provided are basic resources to counter military recruitment with youth targeted by military recruiters from the counter-recruitment community of activists.

Counter-recruitment: Inside Out

Counter-recruitment Inside Out, is a compilation of articles authored during the last 12 years by activists and researchers, offering an analysis of counter-recruitment practices. It also seeks strategies for improving its effectiveness in persuading the youth to take a harder look at military enlistment, and to develop a more informed view of the motivations behind their government's wars. With the advent of militarized gaming and the increase of movie and television militainment influencing young minds and legitimizing state violence, counter-recruiters need to develop more nuanced methods of directing young people towards alternatives to militarization.
